Can i put a chevy 350 in a 1983 camero? top hp? transmission type? Can i put a chevy 350 in a 1983 camero? top hp? transmission type? I just about to start a project and not sure of my limits! Car is a 1983 chevrolet camero with a dead v6 in it now - I think the 2.6l engine. I want to put a chevy 350 with 500(?) Hp after some modifications obviously! First question is WILL IT FIT? Second question is what would be the suggested auto transmission to put in it (specs & types if you know). Or would the currebt tranny work with the bigger motor under a lot of hp? Last question is regarding the specs/measurments of what I would need to put in this rebuilt 350. Piston sizes - recommended brand? Lifters, push rods, intake and carburator sizes/brands? Recommended exhaust dimensions and brand! Basically just stirring up some ideas and brainstorming! This is my first major project car so the more details EVERYONE can give me the better!! This should be a fun question to answer for the guys! car insurance. Auto parts : Valve Cover Hold Down Tab Dodge 2005. Valve Cover Nut Eagle 2006. Valve Cover Spacer Ford 2007. Mitsubishi . How Do I Mount a Flip Down Monitor?A flip down TV is an electronic accessory that is typically mounted to the roof of a car. Flip down monitors are an ideal way to bring the entertainment of a television into your own automobile. Roof mounted or overhead flip down LCD screens are the biggest car screens that are available for installation in a vehicle. Their design allows them to be larger than most other car monitors because they can be folded up when not in use. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Standard and Phillips screwdriver Marker Edge ruler Wire cutter Box cutter Electric drill Electrical tape Step by Step : 1 Remove the dome light on the roof of your car if it has one installed. Use a pick or a screwdriver to remove the dome lens through the small square hole that indicates where to pry off. Next, use a screwdriver to remove the screws of the dome light cover on the roof. Expose the dome light wiring after polling the cover off the roof. Feel around your roof to find a reinforced metal sheet so that the monitor can be securely fastened. 2 Take the mounting plate and place it on the roof and align the mounting plate in your desired spot. Use the ruler and measure all four corners of the mounting plate. Draw an outline of the mounting plate on the roof and mark the screw holes using the marker for mounting the monitor plate later. 3 Use the box cutter to cut out the headliner. Carefully move along the outline that you marked with a steady hand. Take extra precaution when cutting to avoid damaging any wires or tubing that belong to the car roof. 4 Look at the roof for a support brace or cross brace from the car. If you find none, you can glue wood rail to the roof of the vehicle using silicone. Use the electric drill to holes into the support brace. Get the drill bit that is the appropriate size for the screws that you will use. Drill the mounting plate into the support brace using the screws provided. 5 Use the equipped wiring, and take the mounting bracket through the headliner opening, finally connecting the cable to the monitor's input. Secure the mounting bracket with screws. Run the wire down alongside the passenger side post. Now using wire that is provided, connect the wires from the dome light to the appropriate wire. Use of electrical tape to connect or fasten all wires. 6 Put away the wires that you just connected. Using the electric drill, carefully screw the monitor into the ceiling making sure that you do not tighten the screws to a point that they bore into the plate. Tips & Warnings You can use tape to make sure the mounting plate is put in the desired spot once you fasten it. Do not drill into any wiring or factory tubing in your car. Do not place the monitor in any area that can impair your driving or near airbags.
Mitsubishi . How do I Seal a Ceramic VW Exhaust?Ceramic exhaust pipes conduct heat differently than metal exhaust pipes. Ceramic pipes are often seen on Volkswagen motorcycles. A ceramic seal helps protect the exhaust pipe from rust, and does not conduct heat easily. This means that the exhaust pipes will not overheat and cause damaging burns when touched. Applying a ceramic seal is a simple process that can be completed in one weekend. This will not only extend the life of your VW exhaust pipe but will also allow customized style options as well in metallic, white or black color options. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Respirator Safety goggles Air brush machine or paint sprayer Air-drying exhaust ceramic seal Tri-sodium phosphate Steel wool Soft cloths Degreasing cleanser Plastic sheeting Masking tape Cardboard Step by Step : 1 Clean the exhaust pipe before sealing. Wash the exhaust pipes with a degreasing cleanser and a soft cloth to remove all dirt, grease and grime from the exhaust pipe. Brush any stubborn areas with steel wool to remove them. 2 Wipe the entire surface of the exhaust pipe with tri-sodium phosphate to remove any remaining residue from the exhaust pipe. Allow the TSP to air dry completely. 3 Fill the air brush reservoir with the exhaust seal. Use four ounces of seal for a small set of exhaust pipes, six for medium exhaust pipes and eight ounces for large exhaust pipes. Wear safety goggles and a respirator to protect your lungs and eyes while spraying the coating onto the pipes. 4 Cover any area that you do not want to cover in the seal with plastic sheeting. Use masking tape to hold the plastic in place. Cover the floor around the vehicle as well. Spray the coating onto a piece of cardboard to start an even flow. Open any windows or doors leading to the outside to add ventilation to the area. You can also work outside if the wind is low. 5 Spray the inside and outside of the exhaust pipes with the seal. Spray a light, even coat over then entire surface. Allow the seal to dry for about one hour. Turn the vehicle on and allow the exhaust pipes to heat naturally. The heat from the exhaust pipes sets the seal and protects the pipes from chipping and other damages. 6 Allow the exhaust pipes to cool. Repeat the coating process two more times to give the exhaust pipes a thick seal that will last for many years. Heat each layer of seal to adhere it to the exhaust pipes. I've found that both the chief executive and the PR department often send the matter back to the regional office for action, so I'd rather have the president's or CEO's initials on the letter when it shows up at regional headquarters again. 6. If you still "can't get no satisfaction" or you have problems with an independent shop that refuses to settle the matter properly, write to your local Better Business Bureau, your local Bureau of Automotive Consumer Affairs (if there is one), and your state's Consumer Protection Agency. These organizations may suggest taking the matter to a mediation ser vice, or they may apply pressure of their own. Some states have special bureaus dedicated solely to handling auto repair disputes. 7.
